Mama June’s daughter, Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell, has passed away at the age of just 29.
The daughter of the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star was previously diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer. Now, Mama June Shannon announced her young daughter’s death in a tragic post on Sunday.
“With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM,” June wrote.
“She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won’t and we will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today.
“We love y’all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family [during] this difficult time.”
The 29-year-old mother-of-two, who left behind daughters Kylee, 8, and Kaitlyn, 11, earlier this year revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer after suffering stomach pain.
While the brave mom quickly took on immunotherapy and chemotherapy in an attempt to combat the unforgiving illness, the cancer had spread by summer this year.
“We know it’s terminal. She’s stage 4. She’s not gonna go into remission. We’ve all accepted that, so I just tell people one day at a time ’cause you never know,” June revealed this summer.
Anna’s tragic passing has caused an outpouring of tributes and prayers with fans left stunned by the saddening news.
“She was still so young I just can’t believe it… sending prayers for her family,” someone wrote.
“I hope her daughters can recover from this she was always a good mom to them,” another said.
A third expressed: “Rest in peace dear Anna, you will be missed.”
