A millionaire’s post went viral after he revealed that his $1 million Hypercar got swept away by raging floodwaters.
When Hurricane Ian hit landfall in Florida, millions of people were left without power while thousands of homes and vehicles were submerged in water.
Among the wrecked cars was also a brand-new McLaren P1 that belongs to Ernie, a millionaire car enthusiast from Naples.
As the man, who frequently shows off members of his expensive car fleet on his social media accounts, revealed, the floodwaters swept his hypercar away after his garage was submerged in water.
Adding insult to the injury was the fact that the McLaren had just 300 miles on it when it was destroyed in the flooding.
Ernie also shared a photo of his brand-new toy submerged in the water alongside his Rolls Royce that was taken moments before the hypercar was dragged out of the flooded garage by the current.
“Car went thru the garage,” Ernie captioned his video showing the McLaren swimming in the flooded street outside his mansion.
The video quickly went viral and racked up millions of views and comments. While some viewers sympathized with the man, others said he is lucky to survive the storm unscathed.
“Cars can be replaced but lives can’t. Consider yourself lucky,” someone wrote.
“Kinda tone-deaf of you to share this now when people are dying and losing everything they’ve got,” another said.
The third wrote: “I can understand your pain but at least your house survived and you’re still alive!”
