Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka have reportedly split after seven years of dating.
The 54-year-old pop diva and the 40-year-old dancer are said to have parted ways after a source confirmed that Tanaka didn’t join the singer on her holiday trip to Aspen.
The rumors of a growing rift between the pair first began last month when Mariah kicked off her ‘Merry Christmas One and All!’ tour without Tanaka in attendance.
An insider close to the couple now told Page Six that different plans for the future could have played a role in the split. More specifically, the source suggested Tanaka is ready to start his own family whereas this isn’t something Carey was currently interested in.
“He wants to have a family. That’s not where she is at,” the insider said.
While Bryan does not yet have any children of his own, Mariah already shares twins Roc and Roe with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
“He wants to start having his own life,” another source said.
The realization comes after seven years of dating during which Tanaka and Carey often joined arms to deliver stunning performances side by side.
Most recently, the couple were spotted at Mariah’s birthday bash back in March when the dancer shared a sweet tribute to his girlfriend along with his favorite picture of them.
Rumors of a split didn’t begin until November after Tanaka was nowhere to be seen as the singer kicked off her tour with a concert at the Yaamava Resort & Casino in Highland, California.
Some fans also complained about Mariah’s “low-energy performance” while saying she appeared to be downcast and in no mood to sing.
