Shocking and terrifying reports are coming in about a huge explosion taking place at the Hoover Dam Complete, near the Colorado River recently.
According to sources from local media outlets, officials claim that one of the transformers located in the power generating house of turbines had caught ablaze and that is what resulted in the devastating consequences that took the shape of a mighty explosion.
Official videos from the site of the disaster revealed huge amounts of black smoke coming out from the power generation house where so many turbines are located, confirmed reports.
The place is renowned for being a top tourist destination and that’s why so many tourists became scared and fled for their lives, not knowing what had happened while the mighty blast took center stage.
Firefighters, paramedics, and the police rushed to the scene and safely evacuated all tourists that were present in the area while condoning the location off as investigations continue.
It took the firefighters roughly 30 minutes to extinguish the entire blaze, moments after, the fire units arrived and took control of the entire area.
The location is being highlighted as one that’s the nation’s biggest hydroelectric facilities. But the news of the explosion has led security experts to make shocking findings about how the huge drought has sent the reservoir into a state of being in a historic low.
Let’s not forget the added pressure coming from the heat, which has again caused a major crisis in the dam, and now the compounded effect of this spells trouble for many.
Officials have confirmed that thankfully, there were no injuries reported and those in the area were evacuated.
The turbines located here are stated to provide electricity to various parts of three states. For now, investigations into the case continue and it’s not being revealed if low levels of water inside had anything to do with the fire.
