Matthew Perry’s co-star and on-screen girlfriend has broken her silence to pay tribute to the late actor.
On Saturday afternoon, Matthew Perry was declared dead after he was found unresponsive in his jacuzzi following suspected cardiac arrest.
Tributes to the 54-year-old actor and comedian, who was best known for playing Chandler Bing in Friends, have since begun pouring in.
Among the well-wishers was also Maggie Wheeler, 62, who played Chandler’s on-and-off girlfriend Janice Litman-Goralnik in the NBC sitcom Friends.
“What a loss. The world will miss you Mathew Perry,” she wrote in the caption as she shared a photo showing her, as Janice, and Perry, as Chandler, enjoying a party in a scene from Friends.
“The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”
Meanwhile, countless other celebrities came forward with their own tributes to the funnyman who kept the world entertained for years.
“So sad to hear about Matthew Perry passing.
His physical comedy and that movie still makes me laugh so much.
I know he had many challenges in his life and brought a lot of joy to people with his comedy. I hope he can rest peacefully,” Bruce Willis’s daughter, Rumer Willis, said as she recalled Perry always being “kind and funny” when she was on the set of his and her father’s movie The Whole Nine Yards as a child.“He struggled so much with addiction and was brave enough to be open and honest about it. I’m so sorry to his family and friends who are getting this news today. Nothing short of heartbreaking. Rest in love, Matthew Perry,” X-Men: Apocalypse star Olivia Munn added.
Thousands of other mourners shared their grief while remembering Perry as the staple of the 90s sitcom comedy and a legendary actor whose legacy will live on.
