The Mayor of Southern California has left many people stunned over his striking comments regarding the city’s homeless population.
Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris, who is a Republican, mentioned how it would be a good idea to get rid of these homeless individuals by providing them with all the Fentanyl that they want.
His shocking suggestions left many stunned, while others lashed out at his very poor judgment of words. The controversial comment was doubled down on by him, speaking about how he supports a federal purge of homeless people.
He made the shocking and very bizarre comments while carrying out a city council meeting on February 25, when one resident questioned him about the city’s plan to address the homeless crisis by enclosing the homeless population in a single space in an abandoned gold course near the residential neighborhood.
‘What I really want to do is give them free Fentanyl, that is what I want to do and that’s what will solve the problem’- he shared during his bizarre speech.
Many called for him to be more patient and kind, while others asked him to lead by example, like a mayor should. ‘Lancaster deserves leadership that listens, uplifts, and serves the community. This is the example of one who divides and exploits it!’- another furious citizen mentioned.
