Megan Rapinoe has been facing the heat after making a very controversial comment following her last-ever soccer game.
The 38-year-old former US soccer team winger is known for her ability to leave both her fans and critics fuming with her divisive actions and comments.
Most recently, the feminist and LGBTQ advocate sparked fury and got accused of narcissistic behavior as she proclaimed her injury was “proof” there was no God.
Speaking to the reporters of the last-ever match in her soccer career, Rapinoe said it was *f***ed up* that she had to leave after just six minutes of gameplay due to a torn Achilles tendon.
“I’m not a religious person or anything and if there was a god, like, this is proof that there isn’t,” the former winger said.
“This is f***ed up. It’s just f***ed up. Six minutes in and I eat my Achilles.”
The comment, though branded as a joke by some, racked up loads of attention on social media where Rapinoe was called out for her “disrespectful” and “narcissistic” words.
“Stop giving her screen time. She’s a terrible human being and an embarrassment to women. Ungrateful and a virus to her country,” one person wrote.
“Imagine being such a narcissist that you getting an injury is the last straw for your debased eternal perspective on there being an eternal creator or not. What a loser,” another fumed.
A third said: “I am so happy that Megan Rapinoe who MOCKED GOD after her injury is no longer representing TEAM USA!”
