Meghan Markle has claimed she received a very supportive text from Beyoncé in her explosive Netflix series.
Harry and Meghan ruffled plenty of feathers as they opened up about their stressful life in the UK, the pressure they faced from the Royal Family, and racism that allegedly runs deep in the British media.
Among other bombshell reveals, the Duchess of Sussex also claimed that she received a text from Beyoncé in which the Single Ladies hitmaker praised her for standing up to the institution.
In a clip showing Meghan and Harry checking their gadgets from behind their desk, Meghan can be heard telling Harry: “Beyoncé just texted. I still can’t believe she knows who I am.”
Responding, the duke said: “Just checking in, just casual. Go call her.”
Meghan then continued: “No it’s ok, she said that she wants me to feel safe and protected, she admires and respects my bravery and she thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”
Drawing the clip to the conclusion, Harry simply added: “That’s well said.”
Elsewhere in the explosive Netflix Original series, Meghan was branded as “courageous” by her friend Serena Williams for choosing The Kingdom Choir gospel group to perform at her wedding.
“To have her [Meghan’s] culture represented at that wedding was amazing. I loved it. And I thought it was really courageous and breaking boundaries without trying to,” the tennis star said.
Praising the Duchess’s selection of music was also her friend Dhru Purohit who said: “We had this massive moment where myself, Oprah, Idris Elba, his partner, we all looked at each other for a brief moment and had a little bit of a chuckle.
“Nobody needed to say anything because everybody knew exactly the layers of symbolism that were taking place that day.”
