Meghan Markle’s friends were forced to defend the Duchess after critics accused her of wearing a hidden microphone to the Queen’s memorial.
Following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing last Thursday, Prince William, Kate, Prince Harry, and Meghan reunited for the first time in years to greet the mourners outside Windsor Castle in a historic walkabout.
While their reunification went relatively well considering the rift between the feuding brothers and their spouses, eagle-eyed viewers found an issue with a small rectangular crease on Meghan’s dress.
The spot, which appeared under the waist section of the Duchess’s dress, is likely nothing more than a formation made of several short creases.
Meghan’s critics, however, accused the 41-year-old mother-of-two of wearing a microphone to secretly record her conversations with the royals and use them for her $100 million Netflix deal.
“What is Meghan hiding under her dress?” one person wrote.
“Is Meghan Markle wearing a mic to use the Queen’s death for her Netflix reality show?” another pondered.
The third said: “The waist outline sure looks like a mic pack.”
As bold speculations went viral, however, plenty of people rushed to Meghan’s aid while suggesting the outline is nothing more than a crease or possibly a medical device.
“This is insane and actually damaging to her. Of course, she was not wearing a mic,” a source close to Meghan told Page Six.
“Maybe she wears her belt on the inside and that’s the buckle. I often wear my belt on the inside with the buckle off-center. I’m sure many people do,” another person suggested.
“It’s just creases in the dress, nothing else,” the third wrote.
Someone said: “I wear a Continuous Glucose Monitor and my sensor is the same rectangle shape.”
