Prince Harry in his book confirmed that Meghan and he announced the Duchess of Sussex’s pregnancy at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.

On October 12, 2018, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank tied the knot in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

It was previously also alleged that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘stole the limelight’ from Eugenie by announcing they were expecting a baby during the celebration.

Now, Prince Harry confirmed that he and his wife indeed made the big reveal during a cocktail party that followed the reception.

As Harry explained in his memoir Spare, the couple chose Eugenie’s wedding to share their news because the majority of Royal Family members were present at the event.

The news was first broken to Harry’s father, Charles, who put on a “wide smile.” Later, during the cocktail party, the couple also approached Prince William who was allegedly equally happy with the news and went on to urge the couple to tell Kate as well.

“She also gave a big smile and hearty congratulations. They both reacted exactly as I hoped — as I’d wished,” Harry wrote.

While the couple didn’t publicly announce the news until several days later, sources suggested Princess Eugenie and her mother, Sarah Ferguson, were “furious” because the couple “upstaged” the bride during her big day.

“This was a huge social gaffe, even if you were not a royal – stealing the limelight from Eugenie, who was furious, as was her mother, Sarah,” investigative journalists Andy Tillet and Dylan Howard wrote in their book Royals At War.

Elsewhere in Spare, Harry also revealed how he helped his wife deliver Lilibet in the presence of a doctor the following year.

“When the doctor said it was a question of minutes, I told Meg the first thing I wanted was for the little baby to see my face. We knew it would be a girl. She agreed and pressed my hand,” he penned.

After Lilibet cried to the world, Harry allegedly handed her to Meghan who told him that she was never more in love with him than at that moment.
