Meghan Markle has opened up about her “whirlwind” morning routine and revealed what she and Harry do first thing in the morning.
Speaking to actress Pamela Adlon for her latest Archetypes episode titled ‘Good Wife/Bad Wife, Good Mom/Bad Mom’, the Duchess of Sussex about the morning routine she and her husband set up after leaving their lives as working royals and moving into their $15 million mansion in Montecito, California.
As Meghan revealed, their morning routine is very important to her even though it can get somewhat “chaotic.”
The former actress explained it all begins with getting the kids up and preparing their lunch boxes. She also said she loves preparing breakfast for Archie and Lilibet as well as Harry.
“So the morning rush I’m sure it’ll only get more chaotic as they get older. But for me, it’s, you know, both monitors on for the kids to hear them, always up with Lily, get her downstairs, then a half hour later Archie’s up,” she said.
“I start doing his lunch box right before he’s up while I have her, getting her a little nibble, my husband helps me get him downstairs.”
Meghan also insisted she loves serving breakfast to her husband and her children as she admitted it feels “like the greatest way to start the morning.”
“I make breakfast for all three of them. It’s very important to me. I love doing it. For me it just feels like the greatest way to start the morning,” she added.
Getting the kids up, preparing lunch boxes, and cooking breakfast isn’t all that’s on Meghan’s list of chores in the morning. After taking care of her family, she goes on to feed their three dogs before sending Archie to school.
“And then it’s like feed all three of the dogs – because we just got another dog – and then it’s get Archie out the door for school and, you know, but it does, it feels like a whirlwind,” she continued.
After being asked whether Prince Harry contributes to the morning chores, Meghan simply responded to Pamela by saying her husband is “great.”
