Meghan Markle’s podcast has been nominated for the Best Pop Podcast of 2022.
The Duchess of Sussex managed to upset plenty of fans and raise countless eyebrows with her recent Archetypes episodes, and yet the mother-of-two’s podcast remains one of the most viewed podcasts on the globe.
While the podcast was put on hold back in September after the Queen’s passing, Meghan has since released fresh episodes featuring talks with the likes of Serena Williams, Paris Hilton, and Mindy Kahling.
Now, the controversial program has also been nominated for the People’s Choice Award for the Best Pop Podcast of 2022.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Rebecca Sananès, Archewell’s head of audio, wrote: “#Archetypes is nominated for a People’s Choice Award. If you like our show, please vote!”
Nominated for the prestigious award were also several other popular podcasts including Dax Sheperd’s Armchair Expert, Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy, and Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain.
Archetypes will also be competing against Conon O’Brien Needs A Friend, SmartLess with Jason Bateman, Why Won’t You Date Me? with Nicole Byer, and Not Skinny But Not Fat.
According to the reports, the award ceremony will take place on December 6. It remains unclear whether Meghan and Harry will attend the event.
The nomination comes just days after Meghan’s latest Archetypes episode in which she claimed she often finds herself “cowering and tiptoeing into a room” because she’s afraid that people will perceive her words negatively.
“I’m particular, I think a high tide raises all ships, we’re all going to succeed so let’s make sure it’s really great because it’s a shared success for everybody,” the duchess said.
“But I also find myself cowering and tiptoeing into a room and – the thing I find most embarrassing – when you’re saying a sentence and the intonation goes up, like it’s a question.”
She continued: “And you’re like, ‘oh my God, stop stop, like whispering and tiptoeing around it. Just say what it is that you need. You’re allowed to set a boundary. You’re allowed to be clear, it doesn’t make you demanding. It doesn’t make you difficult, it makes you clear.’”
