Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have returned to the UK together for the first time since the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II in February.

Kicking off their cross-country trip, during which the Montecito couple will not only visit Britain but also Germany, Meghan delivered a press-friendly speech at the opening of the One Young World summit in Manchester.

Stunning the audience in her red dress, the 41-year-old smiled from ear to ear as she glanced at Harry and revealed that becoming a mother was a life-changing moment for her.

The speech comes just a week after Meghan’s bombshell interview with The Cut in which she accused the British press of calling her son the N-word while comparing herself to Nelson Mandela by saying someone had told her that South Africans rejoiced in the streets when she married into the Royal Family.

Surprisingly enough, however, the Duchess’s Monday speech in Manchester was rather free of racism allegations and jabs at her in-laws.

“It is very nice to be back in the UK,” Meghan said in her speech more than two years after making a brazen exit from the country.

She went on to gush over Harry as she insisted she was “thrilled” that he was able to join her for the event that was an “integral part” of her life even before she met the prince.

“We often hear people say: ‘the time is now,’ but I’m going to double down on that, by saying your time is now. The important work can’t wait for tomorrow,” Meghan said as she addressed some 190 young delegates from around the world.

“And this week the world is watching as you cement your place in history by showcasing the good that you are doing today, in the present moment, as we embrace the moment of now to create a better tomorrow.”

Meghan also recalled the 2014 “pinch me moment” when she was asked to become a One Young World counselor as she admitted feeling overwhelmed by the experience.

“And there I was, the girl from Suits. I was surrounded by world leaders, humanitarians, prime ministers and activists that I had such a deep and long-standing respect and admiration for,” the Duchess of Sussex added.

“And I was allowed in, to pull up a seat at the table. I was so overwhelmed by this experience, I think, I think I even saved my little paper place-marker with my name on it.

“Just proof: proof that I was there, proof that I belonged, because the truth was, I wasn’t sure that I belonged.”

Concluding her speech, Meghan said she saw “the present and the future” in the young delegates who will “have to adapt to fix [mistakes] from previous generations.”
