Meghan Markle has been dubbed the queen of Spotify after dethroning Joe Rogan with her first Archetypes podcast.
While critics have been actively blasting the Duchess of Sussex and her “boring” and “preposterous” podcast about ambition among women, statistics show that the 41-year-old performed much better than some wished to believe.
According to the reports, Meghan’s 57-minute episode already dethroned Joe Rogan’s ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, making it the most-listened-to podcast on the streaming platform.
The takeover comes just two days after the release of Meghan’s first Archetypes podcast titled The Misconception of Ambition.
In the episode, the Duchess chatted with tennis legend Serena Williams about the role of ambition in the lives of modern women and how that ambition is often perceived by others.
Speaking of her own experience on the matter, Meghan didn’t fail to once again take a jab at her in-laws, the Royal Family, whom she accused of making her feel “the negative connotation behind the word ambitious.”
“Apparently ambition is a terrible, terrible thing. For a woman that is, according to some. So since I felt the negativity behind it, It’s really hard to unfeel it,” she insisted after saying she didn’t feel the negativity associated with ambition until she met and moved in with Prince Harry.
“The notion of ambition comes with many judgements and nuances – especially for women. The misconception that if you’re an ambitious woman you have an agenda, you must be calculating or selfish or aggressive, or a climber,” Markle said.
“And that if you’re that fierce or strong, or brave then you somehow deserve whatever gets thrown at you – however disproportionate or unfair it may be, and even when it’s more than most could endure. Most men, most anyone.”
