House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made plenty of heads turn recently after drawing massive attention due to her awkward gesture during Biden’s ‘State of the Union’ address.
According to local media reports, the House Speaker gave a very odd giddy gesture when the US President spoke about ‘burn pits’ in the region of the Middle East.
During the address, the President could be seen outlining a total of four items in his ‘Unity Agenda for the Nation’, and that included plenty of support for the US veterans too.
Biden could be heard stating: “My administration is doing its absolute best at providing assitance with the housing as well as the job training. Now, they’re working hard with assisting all of those lower-paid veterans in getting VA care on debt-free conditions,” he explained.
Many applauded the President’s words regarding how troops in Iraq, as well as Afghanistan, faced so many dangers but despite all of that, they continued to move forward ruthlessly, fighting in the line of fire and risking their lives.
“They all breathed toxic smoke from the burning pits”- Biden continued after pausing for a short while as he received applause. “Many of you have been in that condition”- he explained.
But after delivering that very same remark, it was astonishing to see the House Speaker standing up, right behind him. And then with a mighty grin, she started to rub her knuckles against one another together, as if she was trying to pull back one ill-time clap.
As you can probably expect, the gesture certainly did not go unnoticed by many who questioned the need for it in the first place.
While some felt that the speaker may have been intoxicated, others simply called it a bizarre or weird gesture.
