Legendary soccer superstar Pele has reportedly penned down his first message to fans and followers after being moved to the end-of-life care hospital yesterday.
According to reports from local media outlets, the legendary sportsman has had a tough past week with many health alarms and scares taking place.
He was rushed to the hospital’s emergency room after being unwell. During that time, he was kept under strict observation by doctors who soon referred to his condition as stable.
But yesterday, the celeb was shifted to the end-of-life care hospital which is the name given to a location where palliative treatment is carried out when the patient is going through his final phase of life.
The message comes amid his long battle with colon cancer but now, the star is reassuring his fans and supporters that all he needs is their prayers and best wishes during this difficult time.
“I am calm and staying very positive. I am strong and very hopeful!”- he went on to mention. This was followed by heartfelt tributes and the showering of great praise for all of his great achievements in the world of sports throughout his career and admiration for being the biggest inspiration to many around the world.
The soccer icon who hails from Brazil has been battling cancer and its tough treatment for quite some time now. He has managed to go in and out of surgeries and therapies with a huge smile on his face, with many dubbing him a true warrior.
Other reports from local media outlets also mentioned how he was no longer responding to standard modes of chemotherapy.
The 82-year-old is being taken care of by his wife who is believed to be present at all moments during this difficult phase of his life.
