Tragic reports have confirmed the death of Baywatch star Michael Newman.
According to reports from local media outlets, the star was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2006 as confirmed by PEOPLE magazine. He was 67.
The star’s close friend Matt Felker was the first who reveal the tragic news about the star who died from heart complications on the evening of Sunday, October 20 while being surrounded by his loved ones and friends.
Felker detailed more about how he was lucky to see Mike conscious in the end who smiled and told him. “that you’re just in time to see me”- which was a clear indication that he was aware that he was leaving the world.
Newman was born and raised in Los Angeles and he rose to fame in the 90s through his mainstay role as a trained lifeguard on Baywatch. He was a familiar face on the long-running series and was the only star of the cast who was a real lifeguard.
He appeared in nearly 150 episodes of the leading series which ran between 1989 to 2001. This was more than leading star David Hasselhoff, sources have confirmed.
Newman also worked as a full-time firefighter and maintained his schedule at the firehouse while filming. When the series did end its run, he continued to firefight until he retired after 25 years.
