Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown reportedly turned down a $10 million offer that could see her return as Eleven.
The 19-year-old actress, who was on the Netflix show Stranger Things since the beginning of filming back in 2011, was reportedly offered to appear in a spin-off show whose nature remains unclear.
While the proposed spin-off remains shrouded in mystery, sources suggested Brown was offered $10 million for the role.
The actress, however, rejected the offer saying she wanted to “branch out” by taking on other roles.
“There are so many directions it could go. Nothing is off the table. They think it would translate to a stage show for Broadway and the West End just like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” an insider told The Sun of the alleged Stranger Things spin-off.
“Another spin-off series following some of the show’s main characters is also being worked up.”
The news comes as Stranger Things braces for the release of its final season this summer. As it appears, Brown will appear as Eleven for the last time in the series’ fifth season.
The actress earlier this month opened up about her acting career in an interview with Seventeen. She told the magazine that she was a fan of The White Lotus, an HBO original series, and that she would love to be cast in the series’ upcoming season.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Enola Homes star also admitted she was ready to wrap things up when it comes to Stranger Things.
“I’m definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now, and we know of it, it’s been in our lives for a very long time,” she explained.
“But I’m very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones up. I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I’m really grateful.”
