The police have launched a search for a missing 7-year-old girl who was allegedly last seen more than two years ago.
Harmony Montgomery, 7, disappeared from a house in Manchester, New Hampshire, back in October 2019 when she was just five years old, the police confirmed.
The young girl’s disappearance, however, remains shrouded in mystery, whereas the police have only received a missing person’s report during the last week of 2021.
“Manchester police became aware of this this week, and I know people are going to say ‘Well here it is 2021, almost 2022, and nobody has seen this young girl since late October 2019. So what has happened in the last few years?’ Fair question,” Police Chief Allen D. Aldenberg said.
“That’s why I’m here today. Because we need assistance. We need help. And we do not have many answers to many questions that we have.
“I don’t care if you saw this young girl a year ago and you think it’s irrelevant – call us.”
In pictures taken shortly before her disappearance, Harmony, who is blind in one eye, can be seen smiling from ear to ear.
It has since the disappearance and the missing person’s report been estimated that the 7-year-old should now weigh around 50 pounds and be approximately 4 feet tall. Harmony has blonde hair and was normally wearing eyeglasses.
The girl was reportedly last seen in October 2019 after the police were called to a property in Manchester. The nature and the details of the call, however, remain undisclosed.
Though it is also unclear what caused the delay in the missing person’s report and whether Harmony was in the center of a custody dispute at the time of her disappearance, Aldenberg reassured the public that the case remains their top priority.
“I have detectives working on this that all have children of their own. I do not doubt their level of commitment,” the police chief added.
