The Will Smith slap drama at the Oscars continues as comedian Chris Rock’s mom opens up with her stance on the matter.
Rose was quick to mention how proud she was to see her son remain calm and composed despite the horrifying behavior of actor Will Smith at this year’s live Oscars broadcast.
Chris Rock’s mom boldly addressed the slapping incident during a recent interview where she did not appear shy from speaking her mind. As one month has already passed, it’s a facade that she and the rest of the world simply cannot come to terms with.
The renowned actor stormed on stage and slapped the comedian for making fun of his wife’s shaved head. Later, he could be seen using foul language and indirectly threatening Rock against taking his wife’s name again.
Rose says Will Smith was simply reacting to his wife giving him the side-eye and she felt that was wrong because the celeb was seen smiling at first.
Rose who is a motivational speaker says she was watching the show like many other anxious and excited fans around the globe. Therefore, when the entire fiasco happened, she assumed it couldn’t be true.
“I thought it was all staged. I just couldn’t come to terms with what was taking place”- she revealed.
But the moment that the actor used obscene language, she knew that something was not right and that this couldn’t be staged.
“He didn’t just slap Chris, he slapped me, he slapped all of us”- the elaborated.
“Nobody even listen to his speech, there was no one who heard what he had to say because they were too caught up in the moment of what on earth is going on!”
In the end, Rose concluded by saying that she immediately called up her son and told him that she was the proudest mama on the planet for going through what he did and yet choosing to remain silent on the matter.
