King Charles and Queen Camilla received a very cold welcome in Australia recently, thanks to some selected people’s actions.
One angry senator was quick to call out Charles after he arrived and started the first leg of his tour of the country. This is the first time that he’s been in the region since assuming the huge responsibility of being King.
Moments after King Charles delivered his reception speech on Monday, he was heckled by one senator from Australia named Lidia Thorpe who was not thrilled to see Charles in her presence.
She and her not-so-nice anti-colonial statement took not only the King by surprise but many other dignitaries in the area.
It was very uncomfortable for some who felt bad for the royal guests to travel this far and hear these kinds of remarks.
As one can expect, the unforgettable moments were first captured and then published online for fans to have their say.
Onlookers called it uncalled for and extremely disrespectful and it did not take long for the authorities to intervene in the Great Hall.
What is even worse is that as the duo continue to tour the country, other reports about Queen Victoria’s statue getting red-faced with paint was also confirmed.
