Amber Heard’s sister has reportedly broken her silence for the first time since the verdict for the Johnny Depp trial was released last week.
Whitney Henriquez mentioned how she will never give up on her sister and hoped that neither would anyone else that stood with her during her ‘tough times’. In the same way, she spoke in detail about how she had fears that the verdict wouldn’t go in Amber Heard’s favor because they had all of the cards ‘stacked’ against them from day one.
Last week on Wednesday, a seven-member jury deliberated and finally handed down the verdict for one of the world’s most-watched and explosive trials to date. The decision went in favor of Johnny Depp as Amber Heard was forced to pay $8 million in defamation charges. Simiarly, Depp was also ordered to pay $2 million.
The jury found Heard guilty of defamation against her former husband in 2018 when she wrote an op-ed regarding domestic abuse, even though she did not name him in the article.
Now, Amber Heard’s legal team is planning on appealing the verdict because they feel they’ve got plenty of evidence and strong grounds for the appeal that was never considered. In the same way, we’ve Amber Heard says the jury was tainted by the popularity of Johnny Depp as well as the feedback shown by social media.
Since the start of the trial, Amber Heard has accused Johnny Depp and his legal team of starting a smear campaign against her that she says has left her with no place to show her face.
Amber Heard’s younger sister had also testified during the trial on her behalf and was also present when the verdict was read out loud in the courtroom.
