A terrorist who took the lives of nearly 15 people and injured 35 more after using his vehicle to bring down a crowd in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve has been killed.
Sources from local media outlets confirmed the news and how the incident took place on Bourbon Street.
More details were shared regarding the horrifying incident where the driver rammed his giant truck into a huge group of people at full speed.
He further aggravated the terror by getting down from the vehicle and using his weapon to fire at crowds, witnesses shared.
As per investigators, they were quick to find more evidence including an ISIS flag on the side of her vehicle and also a chest full of explosives at the crash site.
Thankfully, it failed to detonate and that could have resulted in even more casualties than what was encountered in the incident.
Currently, the death toll stands at 15 while more than 35 people were reported injured.
Two cops were also among those shot but they are currently admitted to the hospital and said to be in stable condition. Observers shared images of a mysterious object dangling from the vehicle that was attached to the flagpole that was tied to his vehicle.
As per the New York Times, he was an American citizen from Texas and his name was identified as Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar.
