A new American-based survey has blamed Chris Rock for sparking the wild slap by Will Smith during this year’s Oscars live-broadcast ceremony.
According to statistics by local media outlets, the survey by Blue Rose Research shows how more than 50% of Americans feel Chris is responsible for Will’s outrageous behavior while less than 50% felt that he was wrong.
A giant majority of all those between the 18 to 64 age group held strong opinions about Chris being more than wrong for the joke made during his segment.
Meanwhile, a whopping 56.5% of American women spoke about how the blame surely lies on Chris Rock but surprisingly, 52.4% of men claim to disagree, adding how Will Smith was equally responsible for his own actions.
While star comedian Chris Rock continued on with his segment, he started to take a direct aim at Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, stating how it was clearly fit for the G.I. Jane role.
Will Smith may have been seen laughing at his previous jokes but this personal hit at his wife was just too much to handle.
Jada was caught rolling her eyes and avoided giving too much reaction to the comments and that’s when Will Smith could be seen storming on stage and slapping Chris Rock before he abruptly returned to his seat.
Rock tried to carry on with the show by stating Will Smith just smacked the hell out of him.
Soon, Smith began yelling from his seat, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth” as the audience stared in absolute shock and silence, as did so many others watching around the globe.
Will Smith may have been condemned by plenty arising from the Hollywood fraternity but this recent poll of Americans clearly shows that the majority are on his side.
