Renowned ESPN reporter, Jeff Dickerson, who gained fame for his NFL coverage events, has passed away at the age of 44.
According to local media reports, the 44-year-old passed away from a series of complications that were reportedly linked with his colon cancer.
Dickerson had only recently covered an event for the network which included the Chicago Bears gameplay. But little did anyone know that it would be the last event of his life as he passed away after that.
The heartbreaking news comes two years after his own wife Caitilin passed away due to melanoma. And that means the couple’s only son named Parker is now orphaned.
Jeff Dickerson was renowned as a jolly and lively personality who many termed to be one of the most positive people that you would ever come across in your lifetime. And that’s what makes this entire tragedy so sad as many always referred to him with the highest of regards.
A recent statement was released by the ESPN network’s editor who revealed how devastated everyone was to hear about his passing away.
“We all got together for an event in the month of October this year, and there he was lifting all of our spirits and giving us all the hope in the world that he would be beating cancer till the end,” revealed ESPN editor Heather Burns.
“That’s just the type of person he was. We are going to hold Jeff’s entire family, especially his son Parker in our prayers as the family goes through this difficult time,” she went on to add in the public statement.
Tributes for the reporter have begun to pour in as many friends and colleagues remember him as a man that was very cheery in person and one of the most helpful individuals you’ll ever meet in your life.
