Nick Carter has paid a touching tribute to his late brother Aaron after the 34-year-old was found dead at his home in California.
On Saturday, Aaron Carter was discovered dead in the bathtub of his Lancaster home after possible drowning. The investigation into the singer’s death remains ongoing and the official cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
The young man’s older brother, Nick Carter, has now spoken out and paid a heartfelt tribute to his brother in which he shared several undated photos and explained that his love for his younger brother never faded.
“My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded,” the Backstreet Boys vocalist, who also released three solo albums, wrote.
“I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.”
As Carter suggested, the real villain in this sad story is “addiction and mental illness” even though it is “easy to blame someone or something” when you lose a loved one.
The tribute comes as neighbors of the deceased singer revealed that screaming was heard coming from Carter’s home when he was found dead by a “yelling female” believed to be his house sitter.
“He’s dead! He’s dead!” the woman allegedly screamed in a 911 call obtained by TMZ. The woman also noted that the man was found “in the tub.”
The tragic news comes just a week after Carter put his $800,000 home up for sale to start “a new chapter” of his life.
Our thoughts are with the Carter family during this tragic time.
