Nicole Kidman was seen breaking down into tears while paying tribute to her late parents in a very emotional acceptance speech at the Miami International Film Festival.
The star found it hard to speak and started to choke on her words while accepting the International Star Award from legendary icon Jamie Lee Curtis.
Nicole spoke about how grateful she was to her parents for teaching her resilience and also providing the love and strength that was needed to move forward.
The star accepted the award on stage at the Palm Springs Convention Center and spoke about how she went over to her house on Christmas and things were obviously not the same anymore. ‘I’ve lost both of my parents and I am in a place where I know things will never be the same again’- she explained.
She shared how her parents gave her the resilience and the love and how much strength they continue to provide her to keep moving forward.
Her mother Janelle died just hours before Kidman was given the award for Best Actress for her leading role in Babygirl on the last day of the Venice Film Festival in September, which was a huge achievement in her career.
