American actor Charles Richard Moll has passed away at the age of 80.
The 6’8″ towering giant, who was best known for his role in the original run of Night Court sitcom, died at his home in Big Bear Lake, California, on Thursday.
According to Variety, the actor retired at the California mountain resort following a successful five-decade career in acting.
Moll rose to fame and gained popularity after appearing as Bull the Bailiff on Night Court between 1984 and 1992.
Adding 180 acting credits to his name, the actor also appeared in a variety of films such as But I’m A Cheerleader, House, Razor, Sidekicks, Savage Journey, Think Big, Pulse Pounders, and many more.
He also made his name known in the children’s entertainment industry by starring as Harvey Dent aka Two-Face in the Batman TV series.
The beloved actor previously opened up about his career and revealed he decided to start studying acting after bouncing from job to job and working as a deputy probation officer for nearly a year.
He also said his appearance, including his bald head, helped him secure his role in Night Court.
“I had just wound up filming a low-budget horror movie in which I played some sort of bald mutant, and I walked into an interview for the Night Court part,” he said.
“They said: ‘Richard, the shaved head looks good. Will you shave your head for this part?’ I said: ‘Are you kidding? I’ll shave my legs for the part.’”
Moll is survived by his ex-wife Susan Brown, two children Mason and Chloe Moll, and two step-children Morgan Ostling and Cassandra Card.
