A non-binary official serving the Biden Administration’s Nuclear and Energy division is making heads turn online.
Sam Brinton made headlines in the past when his name came up in a startling accusation involving luggage theft. And now, he’s being accused of another similar incident that took place recently at a Las Vegas Airport.
The first incident was linked to Minneapolis and now this new incident has some people wondering what exactly he was thinking as a new felony warrant was recently issued under his name.
Brinton has been accused of stealing the luggage of another traveler who happened to be on the same flight as him at the Harry Reid International Airport in Vegas.
Brinton is serving as the deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition at the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy as recently outlined by The Post.
While details about this alleged theft incident are quite scarce at the moment, court records went on to highlight how Brinton was charged with grand larceny. And the value delineated was said to be between $1200 and $5000.
After reports regarding the first charges went public, Brinton was immediately placed on leave from the department of energy. Just the thought of being accused of felony theft has caused fury among many and the Republicans are no exception.
They are demanding his immediate termination from the position as they feel such crimes are inexcusable for obvious reasons.
Meanwhile, court documents also showed how the case from Minneapolis involved the snatching of a woman’s suitcase with valuables worth $2325.
At the start, Brinton denied any involvement in the crime but then later changed the story to mention that it was an honest mistake and there was a misunderstanding that arose due to which the suitcase ended with them.
