Hollywood stars have been rallying to pay a tribute to Olivia Newton-John after the actress succumbed to breast cancer and passed away.
On Monday morning, the 73-year-old Hollywood icon passed away at her home in California. Her death was announced by her husband, John Easterling, who asked for privacy as he revealed the beloved actress was surrounded by her family and friends at the time of her passing.
Following the tragic announcement, countless entertainment figures paid their respects to Olivia and recalled their shared moments together.
One of the first to comment on her death was John Travolta who appeared alongside Newton-John in the 1978 hit romantic comedy Grease.
“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again,” the actor wrote.
“Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”
Paying a tribute to the actress was also Randal Kleiser, the director of Grease, who recalled Olivia as a loving and kind person.
“I’m Heartbroken. She was one of a kind, and so very kind. For over four decades of our friendship she exuded nothing but love to everyone she met. Olivia was exactly the way you imagined her. I will miss her forever,” he said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, George Takei wrote: “We have lost a great, iconic artist in Olivia Newton John, gone too soon from us at age 73. I trust she is now in the great Xanadu beyond. Know that we are forever hopelessly devoted to you, Olivia. Rest in song and mirth.”
“Like so many, Olivia has always been my hero. Discovering her magnetic energy as an artist and actress came first but it was her heart that truly captured mine. Forever an icon and legend!” Julianne Hough added.
Viola Davis expressed: “You were my childhood!! Your talent, poise, beauty!! Rest in glorious peace. God bless your family… and thank you for creating eternal memories.”
Our thoughts are with Olivia’s family and friends as they continue to grieve the loss of an iconic actress and an amazing human being.
