Al Pacino was seen rolling out the announcement for Oppenheimer as the evening’s award for Best Picture but one mistake he made has left many in a state of shock.
Without a doubt, the iconic star was given the huge honor of announcing the most prestigious award but he fumbled when he failed to bother to name the other nominees in the respective category.
Many referred to the ordeal as not only embarrassing but awkward while viewers at home questioned if he was feeling alright or perhaps may have had one drink too many during the grand event.
“This was Hollywood’s biggest night and he was there to ruin it! Who does that? It’s a huge deal”- one critic explained and many couldn’t help but agree.
Oppenheimer was certainly the biggest winner for that particular evening. It managed to earn a staggering seven wins including Best Picture and Best Actor which went to the leading star of the film Cillian Murphy.
Other big winners for that evening included the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Christopher Nolan while star Emma Stone of Poor Things was awarded Best Actress for her role in Poor Things.
What was even more bizarre is how the 83-year-old star made bizarre jokes linked to his performance in Shakespeare before jumping to name the winner.
