Tom Cruise was just bestowed with the honor of being granted a major award by the US Navy.
This accolade is the highest that any civilian can ever receive but many don’t agree with the decision while others question the reasons and motive behind it.
Social media was on fire after viral images of the actor holding the award in his suit were published online. This was given by the US Navy Distinguished Public Service Award and handed over by the US Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro.
He was honored for promoting the naval service in his career, specifically by taking part in the Top Gun movie franchise.
As per Cruise’s accomplishment, the incident sparked waves of outrage across the board for many who believed he didn’t do anything to earn this coveted award.
Others added that perhaps it was some kind of a prank because it didn’t make sense and for the armed services to be behind this was just hard for many to accept.
