What would you do if someone destroyed a priceless piece of artwork that you spent months creating, not to mention the exorbitant price tag for which it was worth?
Well, we’re talking about a real-life incident from Russia where one security guard had the audacity to deface a million-dollar painting of a renowned artist.
And just in case you didn’t know, he felt like doing it on his FIRST day of job because he felt bored! How’s that for some interesting news?
The security guard thought it would be a good idea to put his own talent to good use by using a “ballpoint” pen to draw faces on the faceless figures of the original masterpiece.
The renowned artwork was by Anna Leporskaya and was titled “Three Figures”. The painting dates back to the 1932 to 1934 time period. But it now appears that it’s not the same after getting a whole new vibe thanks to the guard’s amateur skills.
Sources claim that the famous painting happened to be on display in the Russian city called Yekaterinburg at an arts center.
The accused culprit was identified as the center’s own security guard who was supposed to be looking after the artwork instead of adding his own creativity. Sources claim he belonged to a private security guard firm that had been hired by the center itself. But little did they know about his intentions, in the end.
Local media outlets report that the million-dollar painting is now destroyed after the guard drew eyes on the faceless figures, destroying the look completely.
It was thanks to two visitors who happened to notice the strange addition on the priceless glory, forcing officials to take immediate notice and action regarding the event.
As you can probably expect, the security guard was immediately fired from his duty, after being called out for his shocking behavior.
