Terrifying and tragic reports have confirmed the death of the leading actor from South Korea, Lee Sun-Kyun who starred in the Oscar-winning movie Parasite.
The star was aged 48 at the time of his death as confirmed by local media outlet Yonhap news agency which was the first to break the devastating news.
The leading movie star who made a huge name for himself due to his incredible talent was currently under investigation for the illegal use of drugs after an ongoing investigation featuring government agencies took center stage. The officials were said to be cracking down on those making use of any unlawful substances, reports added.
The star was found in an unconscious state next to charcoal briquettes inside his vehicle that happened to be parked at a local park in the city of Seoul in South Korea during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
His wife found him and was also the one who found a possible s*icide note in his room.
She immediately contacted the police for assistance who were able to track his whereabouts.For now, the matter is still under investigation and the circumstances linked to his death are not clear yet. Moreover, the city’s Jongno police station has yet to provide any kind of response to phone calls and comments linked to the heartbreaking matter.
For those who may not be aware, the country has been dealing with plenty of punitive drug laws and it’s believed that drug crimes are punishable with offenses leading up to six months in jail and if the offense is repeated, it’s nearly 14 years in prison for those who deal and are involved in the crime directly.
Lee was said to be interrogated for a whopping 19 hours over the weekend. He claimed that a bar hostess tricked him into taking the unlawful substances and even tried to blackmail him afterward. Now, news of the star’s death has left fans devastated as an outpouring of heartwarming tributes regarding his death takes center stage.
