Michael Jackson’s daughter is breaking her silence about her personal struggles in life and how hard it has been for her to battle drug addiction and alcoholism.
Living under the shadow of the King of Pop was never going to be easy, Paris shared during her recent interview.
She explained how the immense pressure and scrutiny of living in the public eye left her with no choice but to remain in her shell.
This meant limited contact with the outside world and fears of asking for help as the world and media were always present to judge.
Paris mentioned how she’s now celebrating her five years of being sober after her long battle with heroin addiction.
She hopes her message and story can inspire hundreds out there today who might be going through something similar but don’t know where and how to ask for help.
‘Today marks five years of me being clean and sober from all my addictions. It’s a huge relief and I am so thankful that I got myself out of that dark place’- she mentioned while getting emotional.
Crying for help was never an easy way out for her but now, she wants others going through similar abuse issues to realize that it’s okay.
“It’s because I am sober today that I get to smile. I get to make music and do what I love. I’m not afraid or ashamed of anything”- the popstar’s daughter added.
