Paris Hilton has become the center of attention for all the wrong reasons as she shared her first photo of her newborn baby with her fans.

The 41-year-old TV celebrity and socialite recently expanded her family by welcoming a baby boy with husband Carter Reum via a surrogate.

While Paris couldn’t be more overjoyed by the new addition to her family, her first picture of the baby – which shows the newborn gripping his mom’s thumb – wasn’t received all too well by her 22 million social media followers.

As critics of the sweet picture quickly insisted, the baby’s nails in the photo appeared to be edited due to their size and color. Some people even went on to call the editing “creepy” while suggesting no baby could possibly have nails like that.

“It’s the baby’s nails… they make me uncomfortable,” someone wrote.

“What baby has those nails!! This baby is 9 years old or extremely edited,” another said.

“Paris Hilton’s baby announcement pic is creepy bc why is it so perfect like the fingernails lol,” a third added.

One viewer complained: “Why did she edit the picture? Baby nails look like it’s been missing vitamin D.”

In spite of the backlash, plenty of people also rushed to the new mom’s defense and wished her all the best on her motherhood journey.

Among the supporters were also fellow celebrities like Heidi Klum, Chrissy Teigen, and Kim Kardashian who said they were happy for the couple and their bundle of joy.

Hilton previously opened up about becoming a parent in a candid interview with PEOPLE.

“It’s always been my dream to be a mother, and I’m so happy that Carter and I found each other,” she told the publication.

“We are so excited to start our family together, and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy.”
