A jury in Florida has granted a massive $310 million award to the family of Tyre Sampson who tragically fell to his death after taking the drop ride at the Orlando Theme Park in 2022.
The staggering verdict holds the ride’s maker responsible for the tragedy that took place. They were named Funtime Handels GMBH who were accused by the lawyers of adding catastrophic safety failures and negligence.
More details were shared including how Tyre happened to be visiting the ICON Park when he and his football team members decided to take some rides.
Despite being over the weight restrictions by nearly 43 kilograms, he was still allowed to sit and that’s when he plummeted 30 meters to his death from the drop ride called FreeFall.
The ride did not have any adequate features including seat belts that stopped him from slipping out of the harness as reported by the BBC News recently.
The family expressed their grief over the matter and how it’s so sad that a senseless loss of life took place when he indeed could have been saved with the right safety measures added.
‘The case might be close but the wound in our family’s heart lives on forever’- the victim’s grieving parents explained.
