Pete Davidson has checked into rehab amid his ongoing battle with PTSD and his struggle with borderline personality disorder.
The 29-year-old actor and SNL alum is reportedly taking a “mental break” after previously opening up about his mental health issues.
“Pete will often check himself into rehab to work on these issues. His friends and family have been supportive during this time,” a source told PEOPLE as the publication revealed that Pete is expected to be “getting out pretty soon.”
Sources also confirmed that the actor’s girlfriend, 27-year-old Chase Sui Wonders, is believed to be supportive of her partner throughout his struggles.
“Pete regularly goes to rehab for tune ups and to take a mental break, so that’s what’s happening,” one source close to the Hollywood stud told Page Six.
Another source added: “Anyone who knows Pete knows that he will always step up and get help when he knows he needs it. He has a lot of people in his corner who love him and support him, and are proud of him.
“He’s taking a well-deserved break so he can focus on himself and learn to better deal with his PTSD issues.”
The rehab stint comes years after the actor revealed he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder following years of battle with anxiety and depression.
The brave revelation was made by Pete in 2017, a year after he checked into rehab following a mental breakdown.
“This whole year has been a f***ing nightmare. This has been the worst year of my life, getting diagnosed with this and trying to figure out how to learn with this and live with this,” he said at the time.
A year later, the actor revealed he’s been “in and out of mental health facilities” since he was just nine years old.
“The last few years have been real rough with me. I took all these mental health classes and really spent a lot of time getting me good,” he added.
Our thoughts remain with Pete during this challenging time.
