Juan Izquierdo has passed away at the age of just 27, just days after he collapsed at a game in Brazil.
According to reports from local media outlets, he was a young star playing for the Uruguayan club.
The devastating news was confirmed by The Nacional, whose club shared the news on social media regarding his death.
They commented on the tragic news and how everyone was in deep pain after hearing about the impact this had on everyone’s hearts. Calling it an irreplaceable loss, many couldn’t come to terms with the reality.
The governing body was also seen speaking on social media about how his death was truly felt by all in the stadium. Seeing him collapse during a live match has left many in shock.
Prayers and condolences were sent out to his loved ones on this matter. He was rushed to a nearby hospital quickly and many hoped he would survive but that was just not the case. He died before anyone took a look but an investigation regarding the exact circumstances of his death was revealed shortly afterwards.
The hospital did confirm that his main cause of death was indeed cardiac arrest and cardiac arrhythmia.
