Three people were declared dead after a small plane was seen getting into trouble but missed the runway while trying to land.
The plane hit a car and exploded into a fireball, sources have confirmed.
The crash reportedly took place in Boca Raton in Florida, shortly after 10 am local time and involved a Cessna 310R.
The plane started to suffer from some serious mechanical issues shortly after it took off from the city’s airport for a flight to Tallahassee.
It started its emergency descent at about 10:17 am, and airport emergency services were said to be on alert at the time.
But the plane ended up missing the runway and instead crashed into a vehicle travelling down a nearby road. The force of the impact shoved the vehicle onto a set of railroad tracks. This caused the plane to explode into a giant fireball.
Two bodies were witnessed inside the wreckage by news crews flying overhead in helicopters. Boca News Now shared how all the people on board the plane were dead. It’s not clear if those in the car that were hit by the plane were injured or not.
Grim footage showed the road on fire, and balls of fire and smoke were seen rising into the sky as sirens sounded the alarm.
