A Spirit Airlines flight was forced to divert its original route after it was struck with gunfire from gangs while it made attempts to land in Haiti’s capital on Monday.
The plane departed from Fort Lauderdale in Florida as it was coming to land at Port-au-Prince.
On that note, it was diverted to the Dominion Republic, where it finally landed safely.
Sources have confirmed that at least one person was reported as getting injured in the terrifying tragedy.

No passengers were hurt, the airlines explained. The officials at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince were seen grounding all of its flights after this incident.
All major US Airlines have canceled flight into Haiti in the next few days as a result of this incident.

After the flight’s arrival at the STI, an inspection showed more evidence of the damage taking place to the aircraft that was consistent with the gunfire that arose. For now, investigations are taking place and therefore that flight has been put out of service.
