The police have shared a hilarious mugshot of a K-9 accused of stealing his colleague’s delicious lunch.
Taking the internet by surprise, Michigan’s Wyandotte Police Department shared a mugshot of K-9 known as Officer Ice while explaining that the pooch stands accused of eating his boss’s half-eaten sandwich.
According to the department, Officer Barwig was enjoying his meal when his assistance was suddenly requested in the WPD jail.
Moments later, Barwig and his colleague returned to the break room only to find out that the sandwich he had left on the table was missing.
While finding the culprit might have been near-impossible, the case was solved quickly after the cops spotted Officer Ice “leisurely strolling out of the room licking his chops.”
“Stealing is not only a crime but it is morally wrong too. Some jobs, like that of being a police officer, require you to take an oath prior to starting. Within the officer’s sworn oath is the promise to protect person’s property,” the police began in their viral post.
“That being said, it saddens me to report that a current officer of the Wyandotte Police Department is under investigation for stealing!
“The incident happened two days ago at the station. Ofc. Barwig was eating lunch in the breakroom when he was called to assist with a person in the WPD jail. He quickly jumped into service, leaving his half eaten lunch on the table. A short while later Barwig and another officer returned to the breakroom only to find Ofc. Ice leisurely strolling out of the room licking his chops. Barwig’s entire lunch was gone… disappeared, vanished!”
The hilarious post continued: “Ofc.
Ice has invoked his fifth amendment right to remain silent and quite frankly is not cooperating with the investigation. He has a history of rummaging through trash cans that are within his reach.
There have been several other accusations of him taking food right from coworker’s hands as they walk by. WPD will consider our Facebook followers opinions on how to proceed with this investigation.”
After the post went viral, the police department came up with a funny update in which they joked that dozens of attorneys offered to represent Officer Ice because the public believes the pooch is not guilty.
That being said, the police reassured the viewers that Officer Ice will not be prosecuted or face any disciplinary actions.
The K-9 even received a custom-made sandwich from his local supporters, the Lunch Wyandotte.
