A man’s shoulder reportedly popped out after a devastating shark attack left him ripped to shreds at a leading holiday hotspot.
The 30-year-old victim was seriously injured while fishing in the waters off the coast of Haa Dhaalu in the Maldives during the early hours of Saturday morning.
As per reports from a local, the man was inside the sea near the island’s waste disposal area with a group of other divers when all of a sudden, they were met with a mega shark that attacked him.
The shark bit his right shoulder into pieces causing serious damage to the area below the shoulder socket. He was then rushed to a nearby local hospital, where it was confirmed that he’s now entered stable condition after doctors were able to control the bleeding.
That part of the shoulder socket that had popped out had been repositioned, and the bleeding then stopped, as per the hospital.
While experts agree that shark attacks in the Maldivian waters are so rare, they do happen from time to time. This incident has reportedly unlocked a new fear for divers and vacationers who enjoy the stellar beaches.
