On Tuesday, a single ticket-holder won $2.04 billion, marking the biggest-ever lottery prize in the history of Powerball.

According to the reports, the newfound billionaire bought the ticket at Joe’s Service Center in Altadena, California. The winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47, 56 and the Powerball number 10.

The news of the massive win comes after the Monday draw was delayed and after a confusing Powerball announcement in which it was claimed that no one had won the jackpot.

“We are so excited and we just can’t hide it. Not only did California have the BIG #Powerball winner, three more tickets matched 5 numbers missing just the Powerball in Gardena, Beaumont, and San Francisco. Congratulations to all our players!” California Lottery announced on Twitter after the results.

The record-breaking jackpot, which exceeded the estimated winnings of $1.9 billion by more than $100 million, was announced after millions of Americans were forced to wait for hours for the results scheduled to be announced on Monday night.

While officials initially suggested there was no winner, they said more time was needed to process all the tickets. Hours later, they revealed that new calculations confirmed there was a winner in California.

Since the winner only paid for one ticket, his chances of winning were 1 in 292.2 million.
