The tragedy involving the missing University of Pittsburgh student in the Dominican Republic recently took another twist.
Sources shared how the person last described to be seen with her mentioned that he rescued her from drowning, but soon after that, she vanished again.
The news comes after the local authorities shared a transcript on the matter regarding an interview that was given to the local authorities.
Sudiksha Konanki was a 20-year-old junior who went to Punta Cana on March 3 with five of her closest female friends for a spring break. She was last seen at 4:15 am on March after heading to the beach with her pals.
The individual who officials in Konanki’s home state of Virginia shared as the person of interest explained to local investigators that he and Konanki were on the beach in waist-deep waters.
They all talked and kissed a little, as per the transcript of the interview that NBC News shared.
That is when a giant wave crashed and swept them both out to sea. ‘I kept trying to get her to breathe, but that didn’t allow me to breathe all the time. I had swallowed a lot of water,’ he continued to mention.
Investigators are yet to describe the male as a suspect in the case, but at the same time, they are not ruling out foul play either.
