Ukraine’s President Zelensky has confirmed that he will meet President Putin for negotiations.
According to reports from local media outlets, the Ukrainian President shed light upon how peace talks between both Kyiv and Moscow will reportedly take place with delegations from both sides meeting on the border between Belarus and Ukraine.
In addition to that, President Zelensky revealed how there will be no preconditions attached to the conversations.
The exact location was identified to be located near to the Pripyat River as confirmed by Sky News recently.
This news comes just moments after the President of Belarus also spoke to the Ukrainian President earlier on Sunday.
“It is the responsibility of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko who has confirmed his role in ensuring that all planes, missiles, and helicopters grounded on the country’s territory remain in a stationary state when the delegation from Ukraine travels, talks, and then returns.
Previously, the Ukrainian President refused to take part in any sort of negotiations in Belarus as reports stated how the latter was about to gain entry into the war by fighting alongside the Russian forces.
The news was condemned by President Zelensky who added how Belarus was once seen as Ukraine’s friend and neighbor but their decision to fight and invade the country has shocked and saddened him.
Reports from Reuters also stated how the President failed to rule out any other location for the negotiations.
At the moment, neither officials from Belarus nor Russia are yet to confirm the news or provide any statement on the matter.
Right before the announcement was made, so many reports came through about how Putin had currently ordered his country’s nuclear deterrent forces to stay on high ‘alert’ but it is not known why he did something like this or what may have provoked him to behave in that manner.
