The United Kingdom has a new prime minister and her name is Liz Truss.
According to local media outlets, the new Tory leader won the majority of votes during today’s Conservative leadership elections. And that means she will be sworn in as the new prime minister tomorrow.
The leader was seen making some bold statements after becoming the country’s new prime minister as she vowed to work tirelessly to get the nation back into shape.
There are rumors about her plans to even freeze energy bills with the massive 100 billion pound bailout package, sources revealed.
Meanwhile, the country’s gas prices were seen touching the skies again after Russia shut down a major pipeline in Europe amid the massive Ukraine standoff.
Truss defeated fellow archival Rishi Sunak to win in the Tory leadership contest of today, sources revealed. And she was met with great applause and enthusiasm for the achievement.
Truss is said to take the helms of a nation in the grip of a cost of living crisis. This is right after she saw the country’s former chancellor challenge the support received from about 82,000 party members, sources revealed. This was in stark comparison to Rishi Sunak’s 60,400 votes.
This 57% to 43% result was actually much closer than what many critics had predicted. It was announced by the country’s 1992 committee chair Sir Graham Brady via a fancy ceremony at the QE2 center in Westminister recently.
Truss declared the win to be an absolute honor for her to lead the nation, adding how she was glad to be the leader of the world’s greatest political party.
“I will deliver a bold plan to grow our economy and cut taxes”- she explained. In addition to that, she added how that there will be a great victory for the Conservative Party in the year 2024.
