One of the most popular talk shows in the US, The View is facing mega backlash over its recent Halloween segment.
Many viewers expressed disgust over the show’s decision to promote a child donning a costume that featured the infamous Oscar slap incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock.
So many people claim it was just not okay and they weren’t going to accept something like this because it was wrong on so many levels.
They told the show’s producers to get a reality check and think twice as it was not funny but highly inappropriate.
But other critics were seen coming to the show’s rescue by adding that it was a light-hearted joke and should be taken in that regard. But that just was not good enough for netizens to keep calm. They felt that they had had enough of the matter and it was time to really raise their voices against such brutal acts on live television.
“It’s said to see adults promoting the wrong types of messages on national television and then using children as props to spread nothing but hate and disgust”- explained one very furious individual.
Others agreed and felt that Halloween was being used as an excuse to reignite the much-debated issue and that’s wrong on so many levels.
The show has come up with a statement that mentioned how the highlight was not the Oscar slap.
Instead, in honor of Halloween, they were celebrating the likes of the year’s most famous and talked about events. Some were good, some were bad and some were ugly. Hence, they’ve asked people to relax and just take it in that context.
