Due to some health concerns, Britain’s longest-serving monarch has been out of action over the past month.

The Queen has been forced to cancel many important royal engagements including the Remembrance Sunday wreath-laying service in Central London.

During her absence, some senior royals have stepped up on her behalf, among those being the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

When the Queen visited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Anmer Hall for the first time, Her Majesty couldn’t get her head around the fact that they spend so much time socializing with their kids in the kitchen.

Since the Queen and Prince William are known to be close to one another, a report from the Express claims that when Queen Elizabeth visited the Cambridges in Anmer Hall for the first time, she was said to be shocked by how much Kate and William spend time in socializing with their kids in the kitchen.

“When the Queen visited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Anmer Hall for the first time, she couldn’t get her head around the fact that the kitchen is the main base for them,” a royal source told Express UK. “For the Queen, she can’t stand that, because she is used to having a set room for that sort of thing.”

Moreover, the source told the publication how like many normal families, the Cambridges’ kitchen is the “main hub” of their house, unlike in the Queen’s numerous homes.

Even when the Queen is away from the media and public eye, when she stays at her Balmoral home fr example, she reportedly regards the kitchen as a no-go area.

“The kitchen she never goes down to when she’s at Balmoral, for instance,” the source said. “In her mind, that is where all the kitchen staff works.”

Before Prince William and Kate Middleton moved to Anmer Hall – a 10 bedroom mansion that underwent a 2-million dollar renovation – their previous Apartment 1A in London is similarly luxurious.

Reports said that despite the grand homes, the Cambridges are believed to have less staff compared to other senior members of the royal family.

“Of course, they have their help: the nanny and the housekeeper,” the source told Express. “However, they don’t have the same level of staff as Prince Charles or the Queen.”
