Quincy Jones was rushed to the hospital after suffering a medical emergency.
The 90-year-old record producer, composer, and songwriter was reportedly taken to the emergency room after suffering a bad reaction to the food he had eaten at his Los Angeles home.
According to Quincy’s representative, the family decided to call for an ambulance out of precaution after the 28-time Grammy winner fell ill on Saturday afternoon, TMZ reported.
After being checked up and given an all-clear, the legendary musician was discharged from the hospital.
The health scare comes just months after Jones celebrated his 90th birthday in the presence of his loved ones.
Paying a tribute to the music legend on his birthday in March were hundreds of renowned figures in the entertainment industry who could agree that Jones was someone everyone should look up to.
“Everyone in the music industry looks up to Quincy Jones. It’s that simple,” Ludacris said.
“He is a blueprint of this industry!” Jennifer Hudson added.
“He is the best that there ever was in his field,” Chaka Khan agreed.
Quincy’s 90th birthday will be celebrated by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association on Friday and Saturday, July 28 – 29, at 8 pm at the Hollywood Bowl.
Performing at the event branded as ‘Quincy Jones’ 90th Birthday Tribute: A Musical Celebration’ will be a variety of musicians including George Benson, John Mayer, Angélique Kidjo, Patti Austin, Jennifer Hudson, Ibrahim Maalouf, Sheléa and Siedah Garrett.
Speaking of the fast-approaching event, Jones said:
“It’s an honor to be able to celebrate my 90th year on this planet with all-a-y’awl at the Hollywood Bowl, with some of my most treasured friends, musicians and songs.”
